Tibet Travel Agency TCTS Shares The Latest Tips For Traveling in Tibet During 2015

Posted in Credit Cards

Lhasa, Tibet (PRWEB) February 20, 2015

Traveling in Tibet is one of the world’s best ways to discover adventure and enjoy unique cultural experiences. Many travelers agree that special trips require special preparation, particularly when visiting Tibet. Tony Yang of Tibet Ctrip Travel Service-TCTS (http://www.tibetctrip.com) has been operating in Tibet for over ten years and shares advice with groups making the trip in 2015.

While travel agencies such as TCTS will take care of the legwork in obtaining travel permits, it’s the responsibility of travelers to make sure the information they provide is accurate and matches what’s on their passport and Chinese visa. This includes submitting information on time and making sure all group members’ passports are valid for 6 months after entry.

The change in altitude can be drastic for some travelers; Lhasa sits at 3,650 meters (11,975 feet) so don’t be surprised to notice it right at the beginning of the Tibet tour. Make sure to stay well hydrated and get plenty of rest for the first couple days.

Most ATMs in Lhasa accept foreign cards and some banks can process cash advances from credit cards. Outside of this expect to use cash for ALL transactions. Withdraw cash before leaving the Lhasa area to avoid complications.

As with any adventure, adequate preparation is key to getting the most out of traveling in Tibet. Pack for a variety of weather conditions and be prepared to feel the change in altitude for the first few days. Also, be sure to remind travel companions to alert their banks to foreign ATM withdrawals in advance of the tour. With this advice in mind, travel groups will be ready to hit the ground running upon arrival in Tibet!
